PROJECT NAME/
Fundamentals Book
DURATION/
4 Weeks
INSTRUCTOR/
Scott Wyss
DATE/
Fall 2022
OBJECTIVE/
The Fundamentals Book is an exploration of the basics of graphic design; point, line, and plane. The compositions focused on geometric elements, letterforms, and photography to create layouts, textures, and patterns. The layouts start simple, same size, and one color to investigate white space, balance, harmony, rhythm, and focal point. The advancement of the project leads you to focus on hierarchy, focal point, axis, depth, perspective, and repetition in one layout.
SOLUTION/
The book starts with a nine-photo grid layout introducing the chapters, point, line, plane, texture, and letterform. The photos are arranged by color, perspective, shape, and form. The original compositions were introduced again by integrating image and type towards the end of the study. The graphic elements are replaced by images and type to create real content.
